I'm glad that you are here.  I created the hub.montereybay.social web site to host all of the "Mastodon adjacent" pages that are needed for a social networking service.  There's a page that introduces our administration and content moderation teams -- just me at the moment, but I expect that to change as we grow.  I also published our DMCA Policy so you know how we will handle any copyright violation claims as well as a Code of Conduct for the Mastodon instance.  If there is any additional information that you would like to see here, send me a message and let me know!

I intend to use the blog for any long-form communications about the instance.  I will report any performance issues here and also talk from time to time about the cost of running the instance.  By joining MontereryBay.social, you have put your trust in my ability to keep the site running.  Being open about any and all issues is how I will earn that trust.  I will give you notice if there will be any changes to the site which will impact your experience.  By the way, regarding costs: at this time I do not need to solicit donations to keep the site running.  That may change if we have an influx of tens of thousands of members, of course.
